30 years of NoVAS – a reason to celebrate! And so we did with this year’s Annual Meeting, a splendid event in the forests of Finland the first weekend after Easter. Our devoted lecturers Monika Bartholomé and Ferdinand Nießen from Germany gave our members a thorough introduction into Qi Gong, Tui Na and Pulse Diagnostics. The course location in Sappee provided us with cozy and comfortable cottages. We were blessed to have the most beautitful Spring weather and so we could have practical sessions outdoors. Our honorary NoVAS members Phil Rogers, Ireland and Jukka Kuussaari, Finland kindly joined us for this meeting.

Here are some impressions from this lovely weekend.

At this year’s Annual Meeting a new honorary member has been accepted – hooray for Linda Boggie! Sadly Linda couldn’t join us this year, but we’ll surely find an opportunity to celebrate with our 4th honorary member appropriately in the future.
For NoVAS 30th birthday Ritva Krokfors Wretemark, one of the founders of NoVAS held a presentation to tell about the early days of NoVAS. Titled “For NoVAS with Love” this presentation brought across the pioneering spirit of those who brought veterinary acupuncture to Scandinavia and the warmth and openness we cherish about NoVAS as an organization. This was for sure a special treat after dinner. Freddy Wigelius, also one of the founding members shared his story about his first acupuncture patients. Current IVAS President and NoVAS treasurer Kim Samuelson discovered the needles around that time as well and said a few words as did Phil Rogers and Jukka Kuussari.

The dinner party provided us with ample opportunity for dance and conversation.

A huge thanks to all our members who attended this year’s Annual Meeting and our inspiring lecturers.
